For AI assistants

Use Canada's Saunas from an AI assistant

An assistant connected to our Model Context Protocol server can search all 40 products in the catalogue, read our 14 articles, size a heater and price a sauna’s electricity by province, all inside the chat. Each answer links back to the page it drew on.

Point your assistant at this address

https://canadassaunas.com/api/mcp

Assistants reach it over Streamable HTTP, and nobody has to sign up or log in. The tools only read our own data, so an assistant can run them without stopping to ask you. We keep nothing about you or your conversation, and every call goes into an anonymous log that records only which tool ran and what it searched for. Our privacy policy has the details.

Adding it to Claude takes a minute

  1. Open Claude’s Customize menu, choose Connectors and press +.
  2. Name the connector Canada's Saunas. The address above goes in the URL box, and both OAuth boxes stay empty.
  3. Save it with Add. Start a new conversation and Claude can call our tools.

A free Claude account gets a single custom connector, and the paid plans get several, whether you use Claude on the web, on a desktop or on a phone. Any other client that connects to remote MCP servers can use the same URL.

What the tools do

  • search_products Search the Canada's Saunas catalogue. Find the saunas, heaters and gear Canada's Saunas covers. Returns name, brand, price in CAD, category, a one-line description, where to buy and the page URL. Use for questions like 'best 4-person barrel sauna under $8,000' or 'wood-burning sauna stoves'.
  • get_product Get one product in full. Full details for one product by slug (from search_products): specs, price, materials, notes, Canada's Saunas's editorial review and rating where one exists, buyer FAQ, and the articles that cover it.
  • compare_products Compare two to four products. Side-by-side table of two to four products by slug: price, category, heat type, capacity, materials, electrical, editorial rating, page URLs.
  • size_heater Size a sauna heater for a room. Given a sauna room's width, depth and height, returns the heaters whose makers rate them for that room volume (Homecraft and Nootka publish room ratings), adding 1.2 m³ for each square metre of glass, stone or tile as Homecraft's manual does for masonry. For a room no rating covers, it falls back to Canada's Saunas's rule of thumb of about 1 kW per 45 cubic feet.
  • running_cost Estimate what a sauna costs to run. Per-session, monthly and yearly running cost in Canadian dollars for an electric hot-rock, infrared or wood-fired sauna, from heater kW, the minutes the heater is on, sessions per week and the electricity rate. Pass a province and the tool uses that province's residential average from Hydro-Québec's 2025 comparison; pass your own rate to override it.
  • search_articles Search Canada's Saunas's articles. Find buying guides, brand and product reviews, and research explainers (the science of heat, permits and wiring, running cost). Returns title, summary, URL and dates.
  • get_article Read one article. The full text of one Canada's Saunas article by slug (from search_articles): intro, sections, FAQ and the products it covers.

Questions it can answer

  • “Which barrel saunas built in British Columbia does Canada's Saunas list, and what do they cost?”
  • “What size heater does a 2 by 2.2 by 2.1 metre sauna need?”
  • “What would a 9 kW sauna heater cost to run four times a week in Manitoba?”
  • “Compare Nootka's 8 ft barrel with LeisureCraft's Harmony.”

How the server works

Requests are JSON-RPC 2.0 sent by HTTP POST, and the server holds no session between them. It answers initialize, ping, tools/list and tools/call and supports the 2024-11-05, 2025-03-26 and 2025-06-18 revisions of the protocol. Replies are plain JSON without server-sent events, with CORS headers for clients in a browser. Every tool result comes back twice, as readable text and as structured data, and all prices are approximate CAD figures. Send questions or corrections to editor@canadassaunas.com.
