This page gathers what Coldture publishes about the XTREME wood-burning, checked Oct 11, 2026, and adds up what it costs to install.
Who should buy the XTREME wood-burning?
The XTREME wood-burning sauna suits a group of four to six at a cottage, or anywhere you can't run power to the spot. A 16 kW Narvi NC16 stove from Finland heats it, rated for rooms of 280 to 565 cubic feet (7.9 to 16 m³), and the chimney comes with the cabin. Coldture faces two cedar benches 162.5 cm (64 in) long across the room inside a powder-coated metal shell.
Nootka's 10 ft barrel from Squamish takes a Harvia M3 wood stove and seats six or more by Nootka's count, and it tops out at $13,049. Bunkie Life's pine barrel costs less again with a Harvia M3 in the box.
What does it take to install?
Coldture's FAQ asks for a flat, level base rated for the full weight, such as a concrete pad, a load-rated deck or compacted gravel. The cabin covers 2.24 by 1.86 m (88 by 73¼ in), and the chimney rises to 3 m (120 in) overall and stands 36 cm (14 in) off the back wall. Coldture says its outdoor saunas arrive crated at about 680 kg (1,500 lb). The stove needs no circuit, though the optional under-bench lights need a standard electrical connection. Coldture lists XTREME assembly at $1,899 in major Canadian cities, so ask whether it covers the wood-burning model and its chimney.

What to know before you buy
Western Red Cedar, powder-coated metal, wood-fired. These decide whether it suits your space and your electrical panel.
- Western Red CedarWestern Red Cedar is the high-end sauna wood, and it resists rot and insects naturally. It's aromatic and conducts heat poorly, so benches stay cool enough to sit on at 90°C (194°F).
- Wood-FiredA log stove heats the room, so the sauna runs fully off-grid and the crackling fire becomes part of the ritual. Fans of wood heat call its löyly the softest. Plan for a chimney and about 45–60 min of heat-up.
