Before you order
This page gathers what SaunaSpa publishes about the Moderna, checked Oct 11, 2026, and adds up what it costs to install.
Who should buy the Moderna?
The Moderna suits two to four people who want a view from the bench and a room that shows up built. SaunaSpa sets a 140 by 168 cm (55 by 66 in) window of 10 mm tinted tempered glass across the front, next to a glass door, on a floor 1.8 m (6 ft) square.
A group needs more room than this. SaunaSpa's 8 ft Cube seats up to eight and costs less than the Moderna's regular price. LeisureCraft's Pure Cube CU572 also has a glass front, sold as a kit in BC red cedar for two or three.
What does it take to install?
Prepare a level base a little larger than the Moderna's 183 by 183 cm (72 by 72 in) floor, since SaunaSpa delivers it assembled and sets it straight down. Settle which way the window faces before the base goes in, as SaunaSpa's installation guide advises. Inside, SaunaSpa gives 2.1 m (7 ft) of height, a 61 cm (24 in) top bench and a lower bench of clear hemlock. An electric heater needs a dedicated 240V circuit from a licensed electrician.

What to know before you buy
Western Red Cedar, electric or wood-fired. These decide whether it suits your space and your electrical panel.
- Western Red CedarWestern Red Cedar is the high-end sauna wood, and it resists rot and insects naturally. It's aromatic and conducts heat poorly, so benches stay cool enough to sit on at 90°C (194°F).
- Wood-FiredA log stove heats the room, so the sauna runs fully off-grid and the crackling fire becomes part of the ritual. Fans of wood heat call its löyly the softest. Plan for a chimney and about 45–60 min of heat-up.
- ElectricAn electric heater holds a steady temperature on its thermostat and needs no chimney. Many models add app or timer control.
